We are Dementia Friendly Tweeddale

So you’ve got Dementia, know someone who has, or just want to find out more? That’s OK.

Dementia Friendly Tweeddale aims to make our bit of the Borders a good place to live with dementia and we need your help. Let’s make it a welcoming place to visit too.

What is dementia?

“Dementia is an umbrella term for a range of progressive disorders affecting the brain.”

The challenges it brings can be different for everyone – not just because there are more than 100 different types.

One in two of us will be affected by dementia in our lifetime, either by caring for someone with the condition, developing it ourselves, or both.
