Dovecot Singers has replaced Recollective and our new name was launched on Tuesday 14 January 2025 in the same venue, Dovecot Court, with the same Leader, Anna Ludwig, our highly qualified and talented Music Therapist, who has led us from the start in November 2022.
Dementia Friendly Tweeddale’s partner, Friends of Dovecot Court, now host Dovecot Singers with new funding from the National Lottery Community Fund, so that it is free to all our members. We had some new songs for the occasion and Mark Davey, Peeblesshire news photo-journalist, came along to take pictures published in the Peeblesshire News on Friday 17th January.
After warming up for 10 minutes, making silly faces and getting our singing muscles and vocal cords into working mode, we sing for 50 minutes; then enjoy a welcome cup of tea and biscuits and a gossip, with our spirits lifted and looking forward to the next session in a week’s time.
